What type of service does Delta Broadband Provide? We provide high speed internet connections and digital phone service through a fiber internet connection or through a direct wireless connection. The location of your home/business will determine how exactly we connect you to the internet. Both of our connection types are ultra reliable, lighting fast, and unlimited. We also provide VoIP Phone Service and Managed IT Services.
How do I get connected to the internet? We will do a free site survey to determine if your address is within our fiber footprint or if we need to connect you via direct wireless. Once a connection type is determined, we will schedule an installation appointment and mount a small box about the size of a cereal box in your home or business. We always find a location that is discreet such as a laundry room, A/C closet, or wiring closet to ensure the aesthetics are not impacted. If we are connecting you with a fixed wireless connection, a small antenna will be placed on the roof of your residence. Our technicians will never leave until your internet is working properly and you are happy with the install.
Why is your service better than DSL, Cable, or Cellular/LTE? DSL and Cable are both running on infrastructure from the 1960's that was originally designed to provide cable TV and telephone service, not high speed internet. Cellular (4G,LTE) is a great alternative but also does not offer unlimited and speeds can vary with network congestion. Our fixed wireless residential service has nothing to do with AT&T or Verizon - it is Delta Broadband Fixed Wireless.
Why not Satellite? Fiber and Fixed Wireless systems are ground based and the data travels very short distances. Satellite has to make a round-trip of about 100,000 miles to get you connected. Even travelling at the speed of lite, satellite is limited in speed and require data caps and throttling that make the internet basically unusable.
Is your service really unlimited? Yes, our service is 100% unlimited and will always be. Many people have cable internet and LTE based devices that charge overage fees and/or throttle your speeds once you've used a certain amount of data. Delta Broadband will never throttle or limit the amount of data consumed.
Can I upgrade as my needs grow? Yes, our system is 100% upgradable and can be upgraded through our customer portal or through a text/call to our office at 318-232-0570.
How much does an installation cost? Our business fiber does not have an installation cost or equipment fee. Our residential fixed-wireless service does require a one time $149 installation fee to help cover the cost of equipment and set up associated with our fixed wireless product.
What areas do you cover? The majority of our business fiber is within the city limits of Ruston, but we do have access to fiber outside of the Ruston area. Our fixed wireless is currently launched in two locations - The area around Mitcham's Peach Orchard area and the Vienna area. If you draw a 2 mile circle around each of these areas it is roughly our current coverage area.
